Tea Towel Giveaway

I have a tea towel problem...I have too many in my kitchen drawer (the third one down) and these are just the tip of the iceberg.

Eva's Italian Kitchen

It's been lovely receiving Kitchen submissions from all around the world.
Eva from Slitnits (who is a big Owl collector) sent me some pics. of her Italian kitchen.
She writes, "I'm Eva from Trieste in Italy. I was delighted with your kitchens, so I decided to share with you mine. It's very small, because it's part of a very old farmer house we have restored. But I love cooking in there and I love my stove. Mashed potatoes cooked over this stove are my favourite. We call kitchen "cucina", but, since I'm half Italian and half Slovene I tell you also the slovenian word : "kuhinja" (it sounds like coo-hee-nee-ah)."

Cosy Swiss Kitchen

Regula from Oberheimen sent me some pictures of her cosy Swiss Kitchen or Küche in German.
She wrote:"Here are some pictures of my kitchen, that I love so much. Especially the wood stove. It is from the early Sixties and still working perfectly. I love to cook on it. Look at the lush veiw from her Kitchen window!

Laminex Love

What could be more kitcheny than Formica and Laminex. The more retro and decorative the better!

Lovin' Lino

Here are some cool ways to use vintage linoleum in your kitchen.Awesome vintage dresser with lino backing and benchtop.
(I find lots of great old lino lining the drawers of old dressers and cupboards).Pretty vintage lino used for a bench top in a cute kitchen renovation.If you don't have enough lino to cover your floor use it as a Lino floor rug. Found by Vintage Queen Double Winky.
I would have bought this Linoleum Rug (sold) if I'd had a cool $2000.00 USD floating around. And if I had some more money to spare I would fly like a jetsetter to visit this cottage in Upstate N.Y. and maybe ask if I could live there for a while......

Cookie Jars

I think every kitchen would have at least one cookie jar either for decoration or to actually store cookies (or biccies as I prefer to call them). Here are some pretties from Robyne Melia's collection.

Natalie from Arthur's Circus has a huge collection. (getting a bit jealous of the budgie jar!) These babies were featured in a past issue of Frankie. None of Natalie's jars ever get filled with biccies, as according to Nat "Biscuits are banned in this house, as we (Nick and I) have no willpower and scoff the whole lot in less than a day". Sounds familiar!

This guy is in my kitchen and still has me stumped. I can't tell if he is a bear, a puppy or a chipmunk. Definitely not a squirrel though, as he has a small stumpy tail.

I spied Piggy and his Barrel of Cookies winking at me cheekily in an opshop , so he came home with me to hang out with the bear/puppy/chipmunk.
Mr. BJ had a very negative reaction to the pig, so he was relocated to my studio to be filled with random "stuff" . This will not include biccies as, like at Natalies house, they would have a very short lived life !

Cintia from My Poppet's Kitchen

Cintia from My Poppet has nicely given us a tour of her kitchen. Don't those red and orange enamel goodies just pop. And the Jonathan Adler Tea Towel is yummy....so yummy I just might get one for my kitchen over here!

I love these vintage metal stacking chairs. They evoke memories of church halls and Sunday school.
Awesome decorative tea towel and fancy raffia placemats. Neither of which should ever be allowed to touch a dish.
I call my red enamel pot the good luck pot, as it never lets me down......I haven't checked if Cintia's bring her foodie luck, but it looks like a good'un.
